The North West Air Ambulance Charity relies almost entirely on donations from the general public, yet it offers a vital service seven days a week, 365 days a year. It costs £4.2 million per year to operate two helicopters conering Cumbria, Lancashire, manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire. Last year about a third of the 1000 call outs made by NWAA were in Cumbria and North Lancashire.
